Editorial Design for Sports Institutions
Over the years I have worked extensively in editorial design for leading sports organisations such as FIFA, UEFA and the International Olympic Committee. One highlight was the feature Behind the Scenes at the Rio Olympic Games, created for the 100th edition of the Olympic Review Magazine. For this special project, IOC photographers captured intimate, “fly-on-the-wall” moments with athletes away from competition, as well as exclusive views of the Opening Ceremony. My role was to translate this unique photographic narrative into editorial pages that combined clarity, rhythm and impact — turning a documentary perspective into an engaging visual experience.

This editorial project presents a poem by Bráulio Tavares, illustrated by Cavani Rosas, through a design language inspired by the cordel tradition of Northeastern Brazil. Echoing the raw textures, rhythms, and narrative spirit of cordel literature, the publication transforms poetry and illustration into a visual dialogue between popular culture and contemporary design. The result is a piece that honours regional heritage while reimagining it for new readers, celebrating the enduring power of word, image, and tradition.

As part of my editorial design practice, I have created covers for a wide range of international publications. From UEFA magazines to WTO reports and official material for the United Nations COP conferences, each project required balancing visual impact with clarity, symbolism and cultural context. Designing covers is about distilling complex narratives into a single, striking image — a moment where design becomes both an introduction and an invitation to engage.
